| Koff |
Koffs (kuffs) referred to sea ships with large displacement and with sprint rigging. These were full-lined flat-bottomed vessels, which sometimes carried side sheet anchors. The ship was of the Dutch origin and with two masts. When she moved at full wind, a topsail and a brief-foresail were raised additionally. Besides, there were 2 or 3 staysails in the bow part of the ship. Between the 18th and 19th centuries the koff was rigged mainly as a galleass.
